whats hananin.

So, I'll start with, I guess, friday. Friday i got my off day on and took the day off. I was feelin it in my legs and i was also really exhausted from a week that started fast and moved into the longest week ever. Went ice skating at steinberg in fopo on friday night with my peeps, it was awesome. saturday we went out to greensfelder to ride. I'm still not really sure why we drove all the way out there. It was an ok ride, except for like the 8 miles on Hwy 100. That wasnt cool. I liked the scenic roads with like no traffic at times, but i still like knowing where I am when im riding. Didn't really bonk on saturday, cause i took Dan's email seriously, and ate before i went riding. In adition to the eggs and toast before i had a douce of clif bars and a bag of shot bloks, and i was good to go. Mike T impressed me with his prowress, ha ha funny word, on the climbs. there were a few where he got dropped but there were also a few where i looked over my shoulder and was quite suprised to see him rite there. Rok and Chris turned back about 2 hours in due to exhaustion i guess. Probebly my favorite climb of all was up to hidden valley, we finished "all down hill" from there. My final time was 3:11, and 50 miles. Today i went down to school after watching some 2005 tour on dvd, a great time passer, and worked on the yearbook. then i went to starbux and fais mes devoirs d'anglais. I just cooked up some chicken-lime fajitas for my family and neighbor. School is off after wed....YEAHH.

ps. when i switched templates my links got deleted, if anyone knows how to fix this help me, hopefully i havent offended anyone by not including a link to their blog. sorry.

weekend recap

So...I did alot of riding this weekend, about 90-100 miles for sat and sun combined. Saturday was a solid 3.5 hours and 55 miles of pain. I didn't eat enough and was feeling "jelly" all over. Got home and ate 3 eggs and 8 pieces of toast. Somewhat filled. I went to the team partay on saturday night, quite strange. Was more of a friends of our "Sponsor" maplewood bike. we basically just chilled and shot the breeze and listned to the band from hell. They were "new age" apparently, but they caused us all pain, and were so loud that yo had to scream to talk to someone a foot away. Austin bought a tt bike, he got a pretty phat deal on it, almost as good as i can get. Sunday was a good ride with some incidents. Keaton flatted and then we had a run in w/ a park ranger. you can read about that on austins blog as well. Had a good breakfast afterwards at first watch, new tradition on sunday rides. In other news, I have finally put in a really satisfying week of training. I have gone 6/7 days as of today in the last week. I am really enjoying the lifting, the running "not so much"-borat. Why I only went 6/7 days was due to my need for getting my bike fit last night. I had never really had it fit, just kind of eyeballed it. Greg at my shop, Trek Store of St. Louis, did a bangup job. I needed to move my seat almost 3 inches forward. we moved it up afap (as far as possible) on the stock bontrager post. not enough. that brings me to my shiniest new accessory.

thomson elite seatpost with zero setback.. we still had to move the seat up pretty far on that one. just finished up a california pizza kitchen bar-b-q pizza, and now i have to go do a drawing for drawing class "my favorite place to sit", i find it fitting to do my bike seat no?

Busiest

So. for a real post finally, and a template change. Yea new colors woo hoo. So we rode today. We rode from starbucks to high ridge and the covered bridge route after that, although im not quite sure how much of it we actually did. Before the ride we were all asked to leave the ben franklin/starbucks/chinese place parking lot, by the ben franklin guy who said it was their "busiest day of the year". Basically only john caldwell was the only one that talked to the guy and he informed all of us, except rusty. rusty was almost all set to go and then the goof ball came bounding out of ben franklin and repremanded him. It appeared, from across the road, to get very heated and we were all expecting a fight. the man convinced rusty to move to our side of the road, but not before calling the popo.

The police arrived on our side after rusty. They basically didnt really know why rusty couldnt park there either if he was gonna go get something from starbucks. Anyways we rode and it was hard but fun. People in jeffco need to learn how to keep their dogs in thier yards. we had 3 or 4 dogs start to chase us. One made some amazing bounds through a fence. Tomoro we ride ill-side style, in collinsville. I found these people when i google image searched collinsville. Illinois never ceases to suprise me in a good way.

peace.

Wow, i didnt know that this could be done on a scooter. Having recently dug the old scooter out to cruise the streets of webster with keaton and george like badasses, i give them mad props. Yet somehow its quite funny too.

sorry to bore you..

How's the hole? I see you're keeping it clean...

So, whats up. This past weekend we had a junior meeting thing. We talked and mike listened. Not too much went down. I, like austin, dont see anything major changing. I think we might just be more coordinated as a team. I think that the proposed camp in texas was interesting but i dont really know how beneficial it would be physically. I see it bieng a more team bonding experience. As most of the older juniors, austin logan mike t and myself, are on training plans from coaches, it wouldnt really benefit us training wise i dont think. But i still think it'd be fun. The team forum on the message board has been so busy lately. Almost too busy...?... I'm getting race wheels for my birthday, either mavic ksyrium es, or bonty race x lite. My birthday is november 5th so i expect cool gifts from errbody. I kid i kid. Anyways i hope the cards pull one out tonite in the downpoor that might happen. we're riding sunday, come ride too.

ps the title is from a Kyle Cease routine. He is a comedian that sounds alot like dane in his style. look him up on youtube. here is a quick video.

#4 in all of Kazakhstan/very nice how much?

Hey Blog,
I havent talked in a while..Im sitting here on wednesday(however you spell it) night with no homework waiting for the project runway finale to start in 30 minutes, watching laguna beach re runs. Yea i live an exciting life. I'll give a basic recap of the last three weeks of my life. Mikes wedding was fun. I got the crowd leanin and rockin and our team gave him a good amount of quality advice. I have been riding sundays and thats about it. I started real training for next season yesterday with a 30 minute run. My knees hurt, not the IT band pain that i had, but impact pain. It wasnt very fun and im not regretting quitting xc at all. I missed figure drawing yesterday because of an extra math session with my tutor. This weekend i am riding fixed on saturday and group ride on sunday. Dan wants me to have 2 brakes so i have to go get that figured out apres l'ecole a vendredi. I think i might just rock one front brake because thats all anybody really rides around here, at least for the time bieng cause i'd need to find another long reach brake caliper. I also need to find some pedals, im thinking of getting like 105 pedals so i can use my nikes, and also theyd be a better platform than speedplays for riding in regular shoes. anyways thats it, im out...i leave you with this...you'll get the title if you watch these...

I was kind of disappoiinted with the end of my season, or after i got back from riding in colorado. Schools been challenging so far, "WHO PUT TOLD YOU TO PUT THE BALM ON?!?!"(sorry im watching seinfeld.). I really enjoy drawing class, and really enjoyed my first trip to figure drawing last week. I have decided that i think i want to study some sort of art or design in college.....umm we're riding this sunday out to ellisville again...itss gonna be tight i liked the ride last weekend...peace.

yea.......this thing is dusty.

I'm just going to forget where i left off from my last post and just give a general sum up until today.....We went to dans house in colorado it was freakin awesome and hard. State crit sucked. Started cross country. Gateway was a bit dissapointing. finished 2 of 4. Quit cross country. and we're here. Yesterday I went out to the shop to try and finish my fixie. Wow it takes a lot longer to true a wheel that is handbuilt than a prebuilt wheel. I had to laterally and vertically true them, tension them, de-tension them and then true them again....AHH. I only finished one wheel so im going to go out on sunday and finish the other wheel, get the chainline down, and run a new brake cable. In other news...first starbucks ride is tomorrow. I think im going to get there early and get a coffee....it should be quite enjoyable. Hopefully a good turnout and a lesiurly pace. I need some new tires on my training wheels bad, but we only had blue detonators at the shop and thats not gonna work...im gonna throw some greys on when we get them in stock...i also am going to get some race wheels this off season...any suggestions??? no tubies probebly, too much work to maintain...and i freak out if i dont install something rite so i'd probebly not be good at gluing tires to carbon rims. hopefully i'll post more regularly on this thing...now that i've gotten over the speed bump of not posting in two monthes and the daunting task of recalling everything that happend.

'ts been a while.

So i guess its been a while since i've seriously posted on this thing. I'll go back to winghaven. I raced the jrs race and was kinda dissappointed by the small turnout, not to mention the poor organization of the race promoters. we started at least an hour late and that put my 15 min till start time GU out of purpose. The race played out kinda strange. I looked back while sitting on daniel williams wheel rite as we crossed the finish line on the first lap and saw about a 100 foot gap. i said "dude we got a gap lets pull it (yo mamma)". we ended up staying off for the rest of the race and i out sprinted daniel to take the win.

The next weekend was the ttt...completly worthless as no other teams showed up.. we won big deal... Then on sunday it was webster. I raced the jrs and cat 4/5. I sat on johns wheel in the jrs race. John, Luke Chandra and i ended up bieng off the front so to speak for the first 4 or so laps. then luke attacked and dropped me leaving he and john to duke it out. I fell back to daniel williams and jan bradford watts. Jan attacked in the same spot on like 4 consecutive laps and i sat his wheel and we kinda dropped daniel each time but he made it back up. On jans final attack daniel goes "you guys arent gonna drop me!!"...some major shit talking if you ask me... So then we lapped the fick on the last lap and he sat in the pack then led me out up the back hill down the hill and then i out sprinted jan to take 3rd. in the 4/5s race i felt great until i went down along with about 15 other guys. Some nice war marks. needless to say if you get my drift, im not gonna be an underwear model with this crash and my crash a year and a day before at maplewood.

in other news i started working with dan schmatz...serious training is kicking my ass. Tuesday night was alot of fun..i felt kinda sick in the b race...but k-man and i got off for like 3 laps at the end and got caught with about a lap to go...1 lap too early..mike talked about something for the c race next week but bad people may be reading this so.........team ride was fun..TAKE IT EASY... wheres turner?

Catch Up

Hmm...So I dont know where i left off...I started to post at work but had to quit..I think the last post was pre state rr...So i will start from there. The Missouri State Road Race was God-Aweful. I hate Road Races. I got dropped and caught back up only to get dropped on the steepest fricken hill in columbia around the next turn. I felt like crap and pulled after 33 miles to try and save a little of my self for the crit the next day...Went back to the hotel and watched some tube..there were the weirdest people there, only keaton really knows but all i'll say is "this is innapropriate television for children!!". Then we went out and bought some "GOOD COKE!", only to return to the hotel and get our hellas sweet tv spot ganked by the weirdos. Then the power went out and we got pasta. end of saturday.....

Ahhh....sunday...i hate sundays. I felt good going into the race and decided to stick matt waymans wheel. I thought that he was a solid rider that, although he sits on the back, probly wont get dropped. I think on the second lap john and andy smart went off the front and the group got kinda strung out. i remember looking up in front of matt and seeing a 60 foot gap between us and about 10 other guys behind andy and john. then we were basically in two packs witht the 2 off the front for the whole race. We probly coulda caught and joined up witht the other group had we got organized. I got a bar tape prime tho on the 3rd to last lap on a hell of a pull around the whole lap by the k-man. I took the inside line and spun out my hardest gear and won no contest by 50 yards. thne i was pretty spent. I finished rite behind john and andy who lapped my on their last lap but apparently i didnt finish according to the official scoring.

tuesday night was fun. Sat towards the front for like the first 5 laps. Finished off the back on the last lap due to pure exhaustion. TTT tomoro...hopefully first in jrs, probly will be first unless columbia shows up. Mike says that their will probly be other junior teams but i dont think so. then winghaven. some mistery cat 3 jr is pre registerd. I mite do 5s as well....

"in the future winning webster crit i see you" yoda told me.

State/Columbia Crit

Tommorrow is the state RR. Im pretty not psyced about it. It seems like its gonna be 44 miles of pure hell. I thought that my 17-18 age category might be a sinch for the jersey or at least top 3. I now know that me and keaton arent the only two in this category. Theres the potential of matt wayman showing up and also i now know that NOLAN!!! is a 17-18 and probly some of the other cbc guys are also in that cat. Its also just gonna be painfully long. Im also figuring that since its their turf that all of the cbc guys will be racing juniors as well as their category. Im a little perturbed at that (BIG WORD) but i cant tell them what to do, and it also makes me and the other juniors better riders. Im concidering doing the cat 5 crit as well but its something like 30 bux to enter so im not sure its worth it. The time trial tryouts were last nite. I rode pretty shitty. I didn't eat anything all day...i only had a turky sandwich on one of those little rolls and a little gatorade. So i just felt like i was running on empty. Not too tired but more of that i didnt have anything in the first place. Then on the first lap about 6/10 of the way around the lap, i missed a turn and that threw off my whole concentration.. Chris Caldwell had already gained 5 seconds on me and i looked back when he screamed that i had gone the wrong way. Then after turning around and getting back on track Chris had gained the remaining 15 seconds between us and put on another 15-20. He then proceded to hammer out a hell of a time trial, i think finishing 3rd overall. Im pretty pissed with my results. I think i could have done better had i eaten better yesterday and the preceding days. anyway im still sitting in my towel after taking a shower about an hour ago. i think i mite go get dressed and then eat something. trying to get some sleep tonite cause im really tired from working at mcgurks this morning. I made 40$ tho so im slightly not broke.peace.

Wow.

Wow this thing sure is fancy. I always thought blogs were pretty stupid, but then i started reading austin's and dan schmatz's and rok's and realized that i was spending hours reading worthless blather and that i wanted to share my crap with the world.
